Do I Need to Buy Organic Cleaning Supplies?
“Hi, Angie, how are you doing? Angie, I just downloaded your book on Kindle, and I would like to start my home cleaning business. I’ve thought about it for a long time now.
My main question is about the supplies. Is it good to go ahead and also get organic supplies just in case if a household wants natural cleaning?
That is my question because I was setting up my supplies now and see the things that I need to get on my list.”

Organic Cleaning Supplies Are Not Unique
Okay, that’s an excellent question. There are three things that you need to know about organic cleaning supplies.
Yes. Organic cleaning supplies represent the era we live in. Customers are hyper-aware of the harms of cleaning chemicals.
Everybody is using non-toxic, green, eco-friendly supplies and so should you.
Organic cleaning supplies aren’t special anymore. Marketing your non-toxic methods aren’t unique. Most house cleaners are doing it and it’s the new norm. Customers expect it.
Organic Cleaning Supplies Are Smart Business
The reason we choose safe or green cleaning products is that they are kind to the earth. They are biodegradable, recyclable and they are safe for kids and pets. They are also safe for the house cleaners who use them day in and day out.
If you use non-toxic products, you will improve the longevity of your lifespan and your lungs.
Organic Cleaning Supplies Are for Maintenance
The third trend in organic, non-toxic cleaning supplies are that they are for maintenance cleaning. You may go to a house to do a deep clean and the house shows years of neglect. And you may have to use some strong chemicals to remove the initial grime.
There is some crud that you cannot remove with baking soda and vinegar. Don’t beat yourself up. Just expect that this is the case and explain it to your customer so there are no surprises.
Soap scum buildup, grease, lime, rust, hard water stains, and mold, are all going to need a boost.
Learn How to Make Your Own Supplies or Dilute Concentrates
As a professional house cleaner, you’ll have a chemical station. It may be your laundry room, bathroom or garage. It’s helpful to have a shelf where you keep your supplies.
When you do your daily inventory it’s important to bring everything back to home base (or this shelf.) This dedicated area is where you will dilute your concentrates if you use them.
And keeping everything in one hub will allow you to keep track of what you have and what you need to reorder.
Follow the Recipes for Organic Cleaning Supplies
Consistency in your chemicals is the key to consistent results. If you mix your own recipes or you dilute concentrates it’s important to follow directions.
If you don’t, you will have streaking, film, smearing or bubbles.
Following recipes is duplicable for employees you hire.
With cleaning solutions – even non-toxic ones, you don’t get to guess.
“Hey, I think I’ll add about this much of this, and about that much of that…” Not scalable. And when your employees repeat your guesswork – you’ll have to go back for satisfaction guarantee reworks.
Say Yes to Organic Cleaning Supplies
If you are in business for five, ten, fifteen years, your body will thank you for choosing environmentally friendly, fragrance-free cleaning solutions. So, will your sinuses, your lungs, your eyes and you’re your skin. It’s a smart business move.
