You have to change your thinking right now about those three words, &#8220;it&#8217;s my fault&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As a business owner, the first thing that you want to do is push blame. It&#8217;s a natural, human tendency. It&#8217;s ingrained in you to pass the buck. Someone says it&#8217;s your fault and you go, <em>&#8220;No, it&#8217;s not. It&#8217;s his fault, it&#8217;s her fault, it&#8217;s their fault. It&#8217;s the economy&#8217;s fault.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Everyone wants to play the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/us\/blog\/fulfillment-any-age\/201509\/5-reasons-we-play-the-blame-game\" data-lasso-id=\"8641\">blame game<\/a>.\u00a0 But the moment that you stop and you say, &#8220;It&#8217;s my fault.&#8221; Then you put yourself back in the driver&#8217;s seat and now you are in control. There are house cleaners that jump in our Professional House Cleaners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/ProfessionalHouseCleaners\/\" data-lasso-id=\"8642\">Facebook group<\/a> to\u00a0 share ideas and vent, and often we hear<em>&#8220;Oh, drat my employee. The minute that you take responsibility is the minute you regain control of the situation.\u00a0 You have the power to make the changes in your business.<\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re blaming everyone else for what&#8217;s wrong in your business, you are out of control. You are a victim of your own circumstances and you can do nothing about that.<\/p>\n<p>So many house cleaners get out of the business and they&#8217;re like, <em>&#8220;It&#8217;s the economy&#8217;s fault. I&#8217;m in an oversaturated market. Take responsibility to show up and add a little something extra for clients. These are clients who have had bad experiences with other mediocre house cleaners.<\/p>\n<p>Nobody wants to be at fault.
