But it starts with you. Every morning when you get up, get up at the same time every single day. The very first thing every day you need to do is to take care of yourself. If you take care of yourself, then you can take care of your customers. And make sure that you do something smart for your mind during that time. You&#8217;re going to get your hygiene correct. That you clean vanities the exact same way every single time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You do your dusting process the same exact way every single time. What happens is your employees become comfortable and familiar. Then if they have a bad day or if they don&#8217;t feel good, they can still go and do the exact same cleaning job. And that translates into the exact same satisfaction from the customer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And so, the customers become dependent on that consistency. When you have the consistency that you can depend on from them that your customer&#8217;s going to pay on time, that your employee is going to do the job on time. And so, if you say payday is on Friday, don&#8217;t push it to Saturday. Don&#8217;t push it to Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whatever the situation is if you say they get paid on a certain day, make sure you pay them on a certain day. There are little things like that. But it comes down to consistency because every time you remove the guesswork from your business, you remove the pressure and noise. And this is all the stress and the anxiety and stuff that consumes small business owners. When they&#8217;re making special accommodations and the employees come in and they say, &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hey, can you advance me money two days in advance<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And you&#8217;re like, &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, let me think about that<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&#8221; Now you have new stress and new pressure. Say, &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I&#8217;m sorry we&#8217;re not a bank. I can only pay you on Friday<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,&#8221; if that&#8217;s when payday is. Now they will have to train themselves, there is no advance money. They can&#8217;t come in and ask for an advanced loan. They have to make sure that they show up and do their job. Become the employer that everyone can count on, including you, so you can count on yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are lots of bad things that happen as a business owner, lots of bad things, and then life gets in the way. Things happen and life goes all whack a doodle on you sometimes. And the only survival you&#8217;re going to have as a business owner is you go back to those systems. Because no matter what happens, you know you&#8217;re going to get up every day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You&#8217;re going to work out, you&#8217;re going to exercise, you&#8217;re going to smarten your mind a little bit. And you&#8217;re going to look sharp when your employees arrive, they&#8217;re going to look sharp when they arrive, they&#8217;re going to go to a consistent job. You&#8217;re going to get regular money coming in from the customer, and so, the consistency is where the secret lies as a small business owner.
